Blinkered is a short documentary I made to showcase two different viewpoints of horse racing. I interviewed people who are against horse racing and talked to them about the issues they have with it and how they think it could be improved. I then spoke to Oliver Greenall a racehorse trainer from Malpas to showcase what it’s like for horses that race. This is a topic that means a lot to me because my Grandad was a racehorse trainer and I grew up seeing how well cared for the horses are. I think it’s a common misconception that horses are forced to race and that they are not well cared for. Unfortunately there are some cases of abuse within horse racing but, this does not mean all race horses are abused. This is why I decided to make Blinkered, to showcase the elements of horse racing which are not always shown in the media.
