Hi, my name is Ciara and I’m a Videographer and Photographer from the North West! I have loved filming and taking photos from a very young age. I got my first camera when I was nine years old and filmed hundreds of videos which I would upload to my YouTube channel (some of which are still up and I can’t get rid of). I have always loved being able to tell a story, whether that be through film or photography. I love animals too, especially horses. I began my equestrian photography journey when I was thirteen and I haven’t stopped since.
When I hit year ten in high school I had no idea what career path I wanted to choose, I had a lightbulb moment when I saw a college advertising its Film and TV course. I’m so glad I decided to take this course, before it I had never considered using my creative skills as a career. I loved the course so much that I stayed on to do the university course to learn even more and I also used this time to also book my first photography events and weddings.
From my time at college and university studying Film and TV I have learned how to create and edit high quality videos, how to use 4k cameras, Premiere Pro, direct, write scripts and creatively light scenes. I love filmmaking, but I also love how I can use my skills to create content for businesses whether that be on Tik Tok, Instagram or Facebook. I have worked as a content creator for the past year and it’s incredible seeing the effect my work and posts can have for a small business.
My Style
I love dreamy style photos with lots of soft light. Lighting is important to me whether I am shooting with natural light or studio lighting. I always try to achieve natural looking photos and I will always help with poses if you would like it. I always colour grade my photos in Lightroom to enhance the colours of a photo. I am always drawn to colourful colour pallets and beautiful bright blue sky’s. If you take a look at my portfolio you can see lots of examples of this! Style aside, I will always listen in depth to the look you want to achieve in your photos. I find Mood boards really helpful too, I will always refer to them to make sure I’m sending you photos you will love!
My Hobbies
When I’m not taking photos or filming I am probably Crocheting! I started crocheting during Lock down and now I don’t know what I would do without it. I started my own Crochet club at the Cafe I currently work at in august of 2023. It’s every Monday 7pm to 9pm and we now have around thirty members that come every week. I made the crochet club free and open to all abilities so that it is accessible for everyone. People also have the option to buy cake or hot drinks from the cafe if they would like to. I love what Crochet Club has become, I’ve made lots of new friends with it and so have the many people that come every week.
I love to stay active too! I have always played football and done showjumping with my horse. Recently I have really got into running to allow me to be better at my two favourite sports.
